About DebtPathway

DebtPathway is a free debt payoff calculator. Enter your debts and it shows your debt-free date, your total interest, and how the snowball and avalanche methods compare, all in your browser, with nothing saved or sent anywhere.

Who makes it

DebtPathway is built and maintained by Mike Mulik, a designer in Toronto who has spent much of his working life on financial products, trying to make them easier to understand. He is not a financial advisor and this is not financial advice, more on what that means.

He publishes it under doubleM, which is just his initials and the name he puts on the small family of free tools he builds, for paying off debt, choosing a baby name, planning a backyard pool. Each one is meant to do a single helpful thing well. There's no company behind it and no team, just him.

How it's written

DebtPathway explains mechanics and shows its arithmetic. It doesn't rank, review, or recommend lenders, cards, or financial products, and it isn't a comparison site. The editorial policy sets out where the figures come from, how the calculator is checked, and how corrections get handled.

Your privacy

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The balances and rates you type are never sent to a server, never stored, and never shared or sold. Close the tab and they're gone. See how the math works for the full method and assumptions.

Not financial advice

DebtPathway is an educational tool to help you understand your options. It isn't financial advice and doesn't know your full situation. For decisions that matter, talk to a qualified professional.
